Computational thinking and coding in IB primary
Dresden International School, Germany
A school not afraid of excellence and innovation
Dresden International School is the premier IB school in Saxony that regularly appears on various lists of top-ranking educational institutions in Germany. DIS is a vibrant international community with over 500 students from 50 different countries, but its approach to keeping its reputation is quite German – the school sets ambitious goals and spares no effort in achieving them.
In 2023, DIS took a more active approach in ensuring their students leave school digitally literate and equipped for further professional education and modern work life. The effort to incorporate digital skills into the core curriculum brought about a cooperation with Code School Finland with a view to implementing Teachease modules at DIS.
After the success of the first full academic year, the cooperation has now entered its second year with more modules, teacher training, and additional projects.
“The interest in the new courses was so high, our
students had to queue up to join.
