Bringing AI into everyday teaching with Tecnológico de Monterrey

This summer, we had the opportunity to work together with Tecnológico de Monterrey on the topic of AI in Education. Around 30 faculty members and professors from different disciplines joined a four-day online training by Code School Finland to explore how AI can become a deeper part of their everyday work.

Starting point: AI is important, but still distant

At the starting point AI was recognised as important, but bringing it into classroom practice still raised practical questions.

From theory to everyday teaching

Together, we focused on what this looks like in reality: how to plan lessons, design meaningful learning tasks, support students, and address ethical questions related to AI in a concrete way. It was eye-opening to learn how differenly AI tools were applied depending on the field. Faculty working in areas such as agriculture, medicine, and business approached various tools from different angles, shaped by their subject-specific needs. This made the discussions richer and highlighted that there is no single way to “use AI in education” - the value emerges when tools are adapted to each discipline.

A visible shift in confidence

During the program, one shift stood out. The perception that AI is complex dropped by over 50% .

This reflects something we see consistently. When educators are given a clear and practical hands-on training, uncertainty can turn into confidence quite quickly.

What this collaboration shows

In this case, the work was shaped around real teaching needs and developed in close dialogue with the Tec de Monterrey team. This made it possible to move beyond discussion and into actual classroom use across different subject areas.

For us, this collaboration highlights once again a broader point. AI adoption in education is not primarily a question of access to tools. It is about helping educators see how various AI tools fit naturally into what they already do. Once that connection is clear, progress tends to follow.
