In an era where technology is present everywhere all the time, understanding the fundamentals of AI is crucial for fostering digital literacy, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making.
Recognizing the importance of these skills, Code School Finland has joined the Generation AI project that was set up to educate the “Generation AI” on the defining technology of their era. This research project is managed by a consortium of three top Finnish universities University of Eastern Finland, Oulu University and Helsinki University. The project has received funding from the Research Council of Finland for the first phase during 2022-2025.
In the project, Code School Finland specialist pedagogical team will develop teaching and learning materials, such as applications that support the educational use of AI. The teaching and learning materials are extensively tested in schools across Finland. We will also publish guides and recommendations dealing with children’s rights and adults’ responsibilities regarding data used in AI.
