San Jorge School, a forerunner to offer Finnish STEAM and coding education in Mexico, will follow Code School Finland’s coding and robotics curriculum for primary school grades 4-6.
San Jorge School teachers will be trained online during August by Code School’s Finnish teacher trainers. Student classes will begin already during the fall semester.
“The combination of Finland pedagogy and coding is a brilliant fusion that will foster our children’s creativity in a 21st century way”, says Jorge Almanza, CEO of San Jorge School. “Our institution firmly believes that the language of coding will take our 4th, 5th and 6th graders to the forefront of future careers. We are confident that this is only the beginning of Finland and Mexico working collaboratively toward the same educational objectives. “
Code School Finland has been teaching future skills to children since 2014 and is now on a mission to bring the award-winning education to K-12 teachers and schools all over the world. San Jorge School in Matamoros, Mexico is the first institution in the region to offer Code School Finland’s program for their students.
“It’s an honor to work with San Jorge School”, says Kaisu Pallaskallio, CEO of Code School Finland. “This forward-thinking school has already put coding and STEAM education high on their agenda. Their teaching philosophy aligns well with our pedagogical model. They want to provide the world’s best education for their students and we can support them with this goal.”
