The Saudi Arabian Human Capability Development Programme (HCDP) within the frames of Vision 2030 sets a number of goals guiding the transformation of both primary and secondary education in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Education has initiated extensive changes in subjects and the development of new study plans and a more inclusive environment in K-12 education.
Digital skills are now to be taught from the fourth grade and in line with the needs arising from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Critical thinking is introduced as a compulsory subject. Newly introduced high school pathways are based on common foundations that include learning and creativity skills, information and technical skills as well as life and professional skills. A separate Computer Science and Engineering pathway is available in selected high schools.
Code School Finland is joining forces with Aanaab to bring teacher upskilling programmes to Saudi Arabia and UAE
The educational solution portfolio of Code School Finland aligns well with the goals of the Kingdom. We develop and provide teaching materials for classrooms, work to grow the technological and digital skills of teachers, and help schools instil new pedagogical models for teaching
The first course we launch with Aanaab will be Coding Pedagogy & Digital Creation – a course for teachers with no prior background in teaching coding. It introduces the key concepts of programming, including objects, loops, and conditional statements and shows how to breathe life into programs with sounds and animations.
Course will launch in September 2023.
Our joint mission is to help both students and teachers think differently when approaching problems
We are excited to partner with Code School Finland on this important initiative. Coding helps both students and teachers think differently when approaching problems. We believe any teacher can teach coding when provided resources that make it simple to facilitate coding projects. This is a shared value with our partners at Code School Finland that we intend to bring to teachers in the region.
